Hi everyone. This year's Holy Week is going to feel very different as we're all staying at home. However, I encourage everyone to set aside time each day to reflect on the Easter story by using the resources and reflections published on CBC@Home.
As we start the third week of the lock-down please continue to look out for each other.
And as we continue to experience these strange times we're using new ways to "be church" including our "CBC@Home Coffee Lounge", a video chat where anyone can join, pop in and say hello. It will be open from 11:00am to noon each day.
Also, I encourage you to take time out to pray, and be still. And remember... Keep phoning, keep texting, keep WhatsApp-ing, keep Facebook-ing, keep Zoom-ing, keep emailing each other!
And also... keep praying, keep reading God's word, keep trusting His faithfulness, keep close to Him, our Lord, and Loving Saviour.
Rev. Claire Blatchford
All our normal activities listed below are suspended until further notice - in line with government instruction
Sunday Mornings - 10:30am
We meet for morning worship at 10:30am with an all-age, family-friendly, service. We begin with worship, prayer and a short talk before the children go to their own special activities. The adults stay in the main hall for Bible teaching. The service lasts about an hour, or a little longer if we are celebrating communion. The first Sunday each month is a family service which includes a special focus on BB and GB.
After the service we all meet up together for "Fairtrade Cafe" and nibbles while the children play.
Year of Prayer - 2020
Spending time in prayer to God - both on our own and together - is vital.
We meet together to pray every Tuesday from 8:00pm - 9:00pm
Boys' Brigade and Girls' Brigade
1st Cranham BB and GB companies are an integral part of the life of Cranham Baptist Church and provide a full program of activities for young people.
Boys' Brigade (school years 1-6) meets on Monday evenings (5:45pm - 7:15pm)
Girls Brigade meets on Wednesday evenings. Explorers (years 1-3) and Juniors (years 4-6) meet from 6:00pm to 7:15pm. Seniors (years 7+) meet from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
Sunday Evenings - Credo Cafe - 6:30pm (monthly)
Credo Cafe is a relaxed cafe-style event where we examine Christianity or a topical Christian Topic. Topics are sometimes introduced with a short thought-provoking video followed by an informal discussion in small groups.
Everyone is welcome.
Home and Fellowship Groups
Pastoral Care is important an so we encourage everyone to be part of a home group. Groups meet at different times during each week to suit people's availability.
Groups meet to study God's word, to pray, and to care for each other.
In addition, a group meet every Wednesday afternoon during term time from 2:15pm - 4:00pm for friendship, talks and light refreshments.
OASIS is a "disability friendly" meeting for all ages and their carers. OASIS meetings are informal and fun and provide a safe environment and loving support for everyone.
Our meetings start with a friendly welcome and refreshments before we join together in a time of worship, songs, drama and varied craft activities.
We meet on the second Sunday of each month from 3:00pm to 4:30pm. See the church calendar for details.
If you would like to visit, or know more then, please call 07714 853545.
